YAKiT KIDS
YAKiT KIDS is a great tool to use in the classroom. Mrs. Roberts first grade class uses it all the time. There are infinate uses in the classroom. One of the best subjects to use YAKiT is in english to encourage the kids to write and draw. Another subject that YAKiT could be used for is science. Students could research an animal then use YAKiT to put a picture of the animal in and have the animal talk.
There is no need to make an account. There is not a paid version, everything is free. There is no parent restrictions on the kid version.

TAFE State Adventures
The TAFE State was hosted at University of Houston this year. We stayed at the Crown Plaza and had many fun adventures.
At State many of our competitors won awards. My chapter won the Outstanding Chapter Award. Taylor Anderton got an award in Teacher Created Material with her fishbowl. KyAnna Carrillo got the gold for her Portfolio. Our Chapter Scrapbook got a blue ribbon, congrats to Taylor S. King, Victoria Likeness, Caroline Greene and Makayla Penley.

Last but not least, my partner Taylor M. King and I got 4th place over all in State in Impromptu Teaching and will be going to Boston in June for Nationals.
I had so much fun at State, but one of my favorite aspects was getting to spend the whole weekend with my best friend. I got to compete side-by-side with her and we were able to explore around the campus together. We got to room together and we were attached at the hip.

Competing at the state level taught me to be able to think on the spot and without any material. Together as a team Taylor and I were able to share on brain and one competitive spirit.

Creativity

Creativity is being able to solve complex problems without help. Creativity is doing something different, doing something nobody has done before. Creativity is thinking outside of the box (which that phase is un-creative).
Creativity matters in education because students
need to be able to feel like they can solve problems. Without students being able to problem solve they can shut down. Student can figure out different ways to solve problems with creativity and if creativity is increased throughout the curriculum then students would benefit greatly.

There is a gap in students creativity now because schools are focused on test and test scores. If schools relied on projects or problems solving to measure
learning then the students could increase their creativity.

The Future of Learning
An ideal learning space would be a comfortable seating area, with music playing in the background. Technology should be on site for personal research.
The material I am learning should be able to be presented to me in different ways in the case that I don't understand it the first way. If I still do not understand I can look it up online to find examples.
The length of of the classes should be however long it takes to complete the assignment. Assessments should be project based.
Snacks should also be allowed in the classroom so that while learning I am not concentrated on trying to hush my stomach growling.
